It doesn't get much better than a baked Camembert, its gooey, cheese heaven that no one can resist. There's nothing like breaking through the rind into the molten centre of fondue heaven, its utter bliss. And what makes it even more delicious is how quick and easy it is.
We've topped ours with a simple fruit and nut combo that's sizzled down with maple syrup and warming rosemary to make the perfect loaded topping. Scooping down beneath the fruit to find the cheese makes an absolute taste sensation. Whether you're looking for a a cheeky weeknight treat or a dinner party show stopper, this is the perfect recipe.
Ingredients
- 1
camembert wheel (about 250g)
- 1 Tbsp.
white wine
For the topping
- 1 tsp.
oil
- 40 g
mixed nuts, roughly chopped
- 1/2
pink lady apple, finely chopped
- 20 g
dried cranberries, roughly chopped
pinch of salt
- 2 Tbsp.
maple syrup
sprig of rosemary
Directions
- Step 1Preheat oven to 190°C (170°C Fan.) Unwrap the plastic wrapping from the Camembert and remove any stickers or additional packaging. Slide the cheese back into the bottom half of the box and place onto a baking tray.
- Step 2Slash the top of the cheese in a crisscross to break the skin of the camembert. Gently pour the white wine over the top of the camembert and place in the oven for 20-25 minutes. Or until the cheese is melting and the skin has started to turn brown.
- Step 3Meanwhile, in a frying pan over medium heat, add the oil and nuts. Stir and cook for 2 minutes or until they start to toast slightly. Add the apple, dried cranberries, salt, maple syrup and rosemary. Stir and continue to cook for 3-4 minutes.
- Step 4When the cheese is melting and starting to ooze. Place onto a serving board and generously top with the fruit & nuts. Serve with toast and whatever you fancy dipping! Enjoy!
