You don't have to miss out on fondue fun if you're vegan, this vegan cheese fondue is seriously tasty, made with dairy-free cheese, soy milk and vegan butter for a tasty dip.

Ingredients

  • 60 g

    vegan butter

  • 60 g

    plain flour

  • 500 ml

    soy milk

  • 250 ml

    white wine (you can use veg stock or more soy milk if you prefer)

  • 100 g

     Violife block, finely grated

  • 100 g

    Applewood Vegan Smokey Cheese, finely grated

  • 140 g

    dairy-free Cheddar (we used Cathedral City) 

  • Smoked paprika, to sprinkle

  • 50 g

    crispy onions

  • Parsley, to garnish

Directions

    1. Step 1 In a saucepan over a medium heat and melt your vegan butter and add the flour and mix until a roux is formed, about 2-3minutes. 
    2. Step 2Add your soy milk and wine and cook over a high heat until thickened, about 4 minutes. 
    3. Step 3Add in your cheeses and melt slowly, whisking continuously. Allow the melted cheese to boil to eliminate any lumps.
    4. Step 4Remove from heat, pour into fondue bowl and top with paprika, crispy onions and parsley. Serve with crudités of your choice.
