Tipping policies and who actually ends up receiving the money that patrons leave is a huge source of contention for the restaurant industry. According to Grub Street, Sushi Yasuda agreed to pay $2.4 million to settle a tip-related lawsuit.

Current and former employees accused the eatery of withholding tips, overtime, and training pay back in 2012. After the lawsuit was filed, the restaurant switched to a no-tipping policy, which touted higher salary raises for staff; "Sushi Yasuda's service staff are fully compensated by their salary. Therefore gratuities are not accepted," the eatery's receipts read.

What do you think of no-tipping policies in exchange for higher wages?
