According to Grubstreet, following unsuccessful lease negotiations with his landlord, Flay's camp has announced that Mesa Grill will close at the end of August. The restaurant, a modern take on Tex-Mex, has drawn crowds since it opened in 1991, years prior to Flay's Food Network fame. Mesa Grill, however, is not the only restaurant serving up Flay's food. The celeb chef operates Bar American in New York's midtown nabe, Mesa Grill in Las Vegas and the Bahamas, and several Bobby's Burger Palaces in eight states.

While Mesa Grill is still listed on OpenTable.com, the restaurant is not taking reservations after August 31. However, as the rumor mongers speculate, it is possible that the restaurant will relocate. While Mesa Grill may be closing, Grubstreet reports that Flay is set to open a brand new Spanish restaurant, Gato, in Manhattan early next year.
Have you ever been to Mesa Grill? Do you think Flay should relocate?
