If you thought there were only three water options at restaurants — tap, still, and sparkling — think again. According to Eater, LA restaurant Ray's & Stark Bar has created a 25-page water menu consisting of 20 different kinds of bottled water ranging in price from $8 to $16. Martin Riese, Ray's general manager and the resident water sommelier (yes, you can actually get certified as a water sommelier from the German Mineral Water Association), makes one of the waters himself — the $16 bottle called Beverly Hills 90H20. "We are already accustomed to pairing food with wine or beer, but many people don't know that water is just as important to the entire dining experience," Riese said.
Guests can choose bottled waters from around the globe that a press release describes as, "mineral waters that are rarely found in the United States." Each page of the "Water Menu" comes complete with "tasting notes, mineral content, bottle price, and photos." Riese will be available to personally help pair water with food, wine, or other drinks. There's also a $12 water tasting menu, in case you just can't get enough of the largely flavorless beverage.
