Our guess is Joaquin Phoenix didn't read the rules on the '21' Club's website before heading to dinner at the iconic New York restaurant. According to the New York Post, the Oscar nominated actor arrived sans jacket with pals Liv Tyler and Claire Daines. Phoenix was given one of the restaurant's loaner jackets in order to comply with the restaurant's required attire for gentlemen. According to one bystander, Phoenix was not disturbed by the update to his outfit.
