Between the burger with 1,050 pieces of bacon, the burger with 1,000 pieces of cheese, and the all-bacon burger, hamburgers have already gotten some pretty crazy makeovers as of late. Enter Wendy's Japan, which started off its re-launch last year with a bang — in the form of a foie gras and truffle burger. Now Japanese outposts of the chain are serving up lobster and caviar.
According to Burger Business, Wendy's Japan added three limited-time offers to the menu: the Lobster Surf & Turf Burger, the Premium Caviar & Lobster sandwich, and the Ocean Premium Salad. Each is piled high with whole pieces of lobster sourced from Canada.

The Surf & Turf burger is a typical Wendy's hamburger with pieces of lobster sitting atop the square patty. The Premium Lobster & Caviar sandwich does not contain beef, and is instead topped with lobster meat, lobster, salad, and — you guessed it — caviar. The salad contains lobster chunks as well as lobster salad. The higher-end burgers each cost 1,280 yen ($16.28), while the salad is pricier at 1,580 yen ($20.11).
Wendy's isn't the only chain trying to liven up its menu.
Foodbeast reports that customers at Checkers and Rally's drive-in restaurants can now bypass the difficulty of having to order and consume a burger and fries separately. The chain now offers the Fry Lover's Burger, which is a burger topped with seasoned fries. Apparently the burger will only set you back a buck.
Slater's 50/50 has also outdone itself this month. According to Foodbeast, following its limited-time all-bacon 'Merica Burger, the Southern California restaurant has come up with what it's calling the 50 Alarm Burger. In honor of August, California's hottest month, Slater's 50/50 created California's hottest burger.

Customers must sign a waver before consuming the 50 Alarm Burger, which is made up of, "their signature fire beef patty, topped with sliced jalapenos, three-alarm Colby Jack cheese, beer battered unseeded and aged cream cheese stuffed habanero poppers, and a ghost chili bacon spread on a white brioche bun." For all the heat lovers out there willing to try this fiery burger, Ghost Chilies — also known as Naga Bhut Jolokia — which are featured in the burger's spread, are rated in the millions on the Scoville heat scale.
