If the Disney Parks are all about childhood nostalgia, then Disney Springs is all about the here and now. The neighborhood formerly known as Downtown Disney is fresh off a three-year renovation, and it's become — dare we say — super hip, with streets full of shops and new restaurants that touch on Walt's fantastical ideas without knocking you over the head. Don't miss the good grub at these 10 spots.

1

D-Luxe Burger

Journey's "Any Way You Want It" could very well be the theme song of this restaurant. There are seven burger options, with patties of every kind — beef! chicken! veggie! — topped with every imaginable ingredient, including fried peppers, bean salad, and onion jam. But the desserts may be even more impressive: shakes made from gelato — not ice cream — and macarons made to look like bite-sized burgers.

2

Earl of Sandwich

Rumor has it the sandwich gets its name from Britain's fourth Earl, who ruled Sandwich, a town in southeast England. (It was his favorite afternoon snack.) Three centuries later, the 11th Earl of Sandwich opened this shop that peddles them on Disney property. Don't come when you're beyond hangry, as lines usually stretch out the door.

Homecoming

To all those who think Florida is only full of batsh*t crazy lawbreakers and wily alligators, this restaurant is here to prove otherwise. It's all things Sunshine State: The chandeliers are a nod to Florida's agricultural heritage, the fish are caught fresh nearby, and the menu proves the state does make good Southern food. Hushpuppies, anyone?

4

Morimoto Asia

This may be controversial, but we're going to go ahead and say it: Disney World has a legit date spot in this restaurant from Iron Chef Morimoto. It's swanky (think: two-story glass chandeliers and sleek ironwork) and has really great Chinese, Japanese, and Korean dishes.

Splitsville Luxury Lanes

Forget your teenage memories (or rather, nightmares?) of eating soggy nachos and lukewarm pizza in a bowling alley while nervously hoping your crush would show you how to roll a strike. The chefs at this gigantic two-story spot with 30 lanes make gourmet, craveworthy versions of the above. Plus, they'll further blow your mind with options like sushi, rice bowls, and filet sliders.

6

Amorette's Patisserie

This is the Mean Girls mom of Disney's sweetshops: It's not a regular bakery — it's a cool bakery. You'll find eclairs, cheesecake, and macarons devoid of any kitschy character decorations. But if you want a nod to Mickey or Minnie, check out the cases filled with super-classy, glossy dome cakes with subtle mouse ears.

Planet Hollywood Observatory

Disney Springs finally reopened this flagship Orlando location with all of the Tinsel Town knick-knacks people love the restaurant for — and they've added all of the stars of the food world to their menu, too. We're talking freakshakes, fried chicken sandwiches, and burgers dreamed up by Guy Fieri.

8

T-REX

This restaurant comes from the creators of The Rainforest Café — AKA the people who made dinner out with the fam 20 times as fun. There are dinosaur replicas everywhere, and even a sand pit where little ones (or big ones, if you're sneaky) can dig for bones. The grub is American-ish, but who cares when there's a Tyrannosaurus Rex staring down at you?!

The Daily Poutine

Poutine hails from Canada, but that hasn't stopped the chefs here from going all Epcot on it. That is to say, besides the classic dish, they also serve a Latin version (with fried yucca, black beans, pork and queso fresco), a French option (with mushroom cream sauce and gruyere), and an Italian one (with mozzarella and Bolognese).

10

Jock Lindsay's Hangar Bar

Indiana Jones may have his own stunt show at Hollywood Studios (he even gets a ride at Disneyland!), but this cocktail lounge is based on his sidekick and trusted pilot, Jock Lindsay. It's meant to look like an old airplane hangar with aviation knick-knacks. You can't go wrong with any of the movie-themed drinks, such as Fountain of Youth (a twist on cranberry vodka) or the whiskey-based The Scottish Professor.
