Red Lobster WHO?!

If there's one thing that's synonymous with New England, it's lobster rolls. Buttery, rich, luxurious chunks of lobster and a golden toasty bun? Count me in. With so many restaurants and rolls to choose from, it can feel daunting to know which one is the best—have no fear, I've done the work for you and found the best lobster rolls in Newport.

Anthony's Seafood; $22

The locals will tell you that Anthony's Seafood Market & Restaurant is the only place you need to go—and for good reason. The price is fair, the lobster roll is loaded, and the fries are top-notch. Another thing locals will tell you: Order the clam strips and the stuffed quahog on the side. Those are the true MVPs.

Gurney's Newport Spicy Lobster Roll; $28

You'll forget all about the price of this roll once you try a bite. This was the best Connecticut-style lobster roll of the day thanks to its paprika-butter and golden toasty roll. Don't let the "spicy" name fool you—even my mother (who hates anything remotely spicy) loved this one.

Gurney's Newport Traditional Lobster Roll; $28

Gurney's made this list twice! The traditional roll goes for the same price but doesn't pack the flavor and uniqueness like the spicy roll. However, it's gorgeous on the plate and a solid option for your lobster tour. Plus, Gurney's has exceptional cocktails and outdoor seating.

Castle Hill Inn; $28

If you want to visit Newport in *style,* Castle Hill Inn is your only option. Located near the famed Ocean Drive (yes, where Jay Leno and Judge Judy reside!), the view is the best around. I have been known to weep just from looking at sunsets in this area.

Sorry, we're talking about lobster rolls, my apologies. OK, this lobster roll lives up to the hype—the onion strings and crème fraiche are a welcomed swap from the usual potato chips and mayo. Every part of this dish makes you feel like the fancy lady you are.

The Mooring; $26

The main difference with this roll lies in the soft, cushiony brioche. The sweet bread was a hit with the lobster salad and the mayo-to-lobster ratio was on par. However, if you're looking for a savory roll, perhaps skip this one.

The Red Parrot; $26

This restaurant is a tourist favorite in downtown Newport and has lobster on nearly every single menu item. If you look past the mashed, ripped apart lobster and non-toasted potato roll, the flavor was the best. The Red Parrot makes up for its looks with its taste thanks to the arugula, celery, and green onions. If the bun were toasted...this would be my favorite.

Midtown Oyster Bar; $26

There may be an entire stick of butter in this roll and I'm NOT complaining. This Connecticut-style roll is pure lobster (besides the one piece of romaine thrown in) and the perfect pick for any purist out there. If you're looking for loads of flavor and a unique take, skip this roll, but don't skip this restaurant—Midtown Oyster Bar has some of the best fresh seafood and cocktails in town.

Brick Alley Pub; $21.95

This was the lowest rated roll of our tour; but the restaurant itself is worth visiting. The decorations will remind you of a nautical antique store and the cocktails and apps are worth sitting down for.
