It may very well be fun to sit inside for a week and watch Shark Week, but in case you want to do something a bit more adventurous, you might want to explore some of these options. Sure, most of them are in the Maldives, but life's short, ya know?

Under

Restaurant, Room, Sky, Sea, Table, Vacation, Building, Business, Tourism,
SNØHETTA

Though Under isn't officially open yet (it'll be around officially in the spring of 2019), the restaurant will be able to sit 100 people about halfway, well, under the Norwegian Sea when it's running. Those guests will enjoy a 15- to 18-course (!) meal with all local ingredients while the fishies swim by.

Where: Lindesnes, Norway.

Ithaa Undersea Restaurant

Ithaa Undersea Restaurant

Ithaa touts itself as the first all-glass under-sea restaurant; it sits about 16 feet below sea level in the Maldives. It's another luxurious meal (16 courses!) that looks truly once-in-a-lifetime. In addition to constant shark drive-bys, there's hella colorful coral to be taken in too.

Where: Conrad Rangali Island, Maldives.

Aquarium Restaurant

Drink, Blue, Beer, Alcoholic beverage, Pint glass, Liqueur, Beer glass, Distilled beverage, Pint, Glass,
Facebook

The Aquarium Restaurants feel a bit more accessible to families or those traveling with children. Not only are they not in luxury resorts, but you're also inside an entire aquarium! So, yes, it's not exactly underground, but if dining by a 50,000-gallon tank doesn't do it for you, you can always fly to the Maldives.

Where: Denver, Colorado, Houston, Texas, Kemah, Texas, Nashville, Tennessee.

Ossiano

Food, Decapoda, Cuisine, Dish, Table, Crustacean,
Instagram

Ossiano's long been known for its incredible seafood (eee!), but it also has the incredible added feature of being able to hire a shark to swim up to your table and hold up an "I love you" sign for special occasions. I'm kidding, but you really can hire a diver to do it.

Where: Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Another restaurant that's not quite underwater, but its 264,172-gallon tank qualifies it regardless. In fact, that tank is reportedly the largest cylindrical one in the world. It houses 1,500 kinds of sea creatures and looks like a pretty magical way to spend a happy hour.

Where: Berlin, Germany.

Sea

Water, Organism, Adaptation, Science, Glass,
Sea

Though Ithaa may be the first all-glass underwater restaurant, Sea holds the honor of having the world's first underwater wine cellar. Other highlights include the constant shark visits, as well as some frequent turtle sightings.

Where: Kihavah Huravalhi Island Baa Atoll, Maldives.

Subsix

Blue, Restaurant, Turquoise, Room, Architecture, Interior design, Building, Table, Function hall, Chair,
PER AQUUM Niyama

Subsix is more immersed than most other restaurants on this list: in order to even get there, you've gotta go 500 meters off-shore in a lil speedboat before being led down a "grand staircase" to get into the restaurant. Yeeeah, there's hella shark action going on here.

Where: Niyama Private Islands, Maldives.

Al Mahara

TripAdvisor

This particular Dubai experience has a massive floor-to-ceiling aquarium. Also, their seafood (eeeeeeeee!!!) is supposed to be pretty great.

Where: Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Cargo Hold has a bit more of an international menu. It also technically lives in the middle of an actual ship, so.

Where: Durban, South Africa.

Sharks Underwater Grill

Sharks Underwater Grill

Good food. Tons of sharks. Same city as Disney World. What else do you need to know?
