Since Guiness is already a pretty thick beer, it may be the perfect addition to an ice cream-based dessert. The owners of Téo Espresso and Gelato in Austin, TX, think so, and their hoards of fans don't seem to mind, either.

Maple Whiskey Milkshake, Hill Country Barbecue

Do NOT go to Hill Country unless you are ready to eat! And when we say "eat," we mean figure out how you are going to fit brisket, beef ribs, short ribs, campfire baked beans, mac n' cheese, collard greens, spare ribs, corn pudding, sweet potato bourbon mash, cole slaw, and the like in your stomach, followed by dessert. We reccommend the Maple Whiskey Milkshake, because let's face it, at this point you've already gone a bit over the top. Finish the job, already!

From the "Candy Cocktails" menu, one can order the "Drunken Cupcake," a boozy shake with pieces of cupcake mixed in. If you want less texture but still want it boozy, try the vanilla, chocolate, salted caramel, gingerbread, espresso, Irish cream, fluffernutter, or chocolate mint milkshakes. Cakes and Ale Restaurant, run by husband-and-wife team Billy and Kirsten Allin, follows a cooking philosophy based on high-quality ingredients and simplicity of production. They want their patrons to enjoy food in a comfortable, safe setting. We agree with this philosophy whole-heartedly, though we think we'd probably be able to enjoy their Missisissippi Mud Cake (flourless chocolate pudding and stout whipped cream) in the middle of Times Square during rush hour and be totally zen.

Know anyone who considers herself a cupcake curator? We do! At More in Chicago, a "modern art museum-meets-cupcake boutique," they promise that each cupcake is "delightfully decadent and totally transforming." We're in! And we want to start with the tomato cake, filled with vodka buttercream and celery garnish. Does that count as a Bloody Mary and a cupcake in one? We also crave the margarita cake, which certainly won't give you brain freeze.
