Ree Drummond fans know her to gush about anything and everything: enchiladas, her Basset Hounds, a beautiful sunset. But there's one subject she tends to talk about nonstop, and it's kinda sorta freakin' adorable. The Pioneer Woman is like the heart-eye emoji personified when she talks about her husband, whom she calls Marlboro Man, my beloved, Ladd (his actual name) — the list goes on. She wrote all about how they met and their first few months of dating in her book, but in a recent interview with People, she spilled why they're still together after all these years.
Apparently, the way to her man's heart is not his stomach; it's his toes. "We always touch feet at night," she says. "Even if one of us is a little bit miffed, or if someone's not feeling it … if our feet touch, I always know, 'Okay, it's all good,'" Drummond shared. Now's when you're going to want to saddle up for the good stuff: "I'm also extremely attracted to my husband at age 48, which I think is pretty cool," Drummond added, probably to the dismay of her four kids. "He's just got these biceps … and if I see him on a horse, it's all over."
As for Ladd's influence on The Pioneer Woman blog, he's more than just a man in chaps that readers can ogle. "He's very much a modern husband and father," Drummond said of her husband's willingness to hold down the fort while she's on book tours and press events for weeks at a time. "When I started my blog in 2006, Ladd was the only one that really understood what I was doing, probably before I even understood what I was doing," she told People. "He wasn't tech-savvy, but he just got it, and was totally on board with it."
