We all know fast-food spots (and even some fast-casual chain restaurants) aren't the best places to find healthy eats, but that doesn't mean you have to write them off completely—or that it's totally impossible to find a decent meal there. Here's what you should order if you're craving Taco Bell more than Karen from Mean Girls.
BEST BREAKFAST:
Hitting the Bell for breakfast might not seem like the healthiest morning choice, but if you go for the Mini Skillet Bowl, at 180 calories and 11 grams of fat, it's actually not as bad as you think.
BEST TACO:
You're probably already assuming the Doritos Locos Tacos are off limits, and while they aren't the healthiest taco on the menu (that would be the Chicken Soft Taco, at 160 calories and 5 grams of fat), they're, surprisingly, the second healthiest taco you can order. All three original Doritos Locos Tacos come in at 170 calories and between 9 to 10 grams of fat. Well played, T-Bell.
BEST BURRITO:
By nature, there's nothing really "light" about a burrito, and while some can run you close to 1,000 calories (wowza), the Chipotle Chicken Loaded Griller at 340 calories and 16 grams of fat is about as healthy as a takeout burrito can get.
BEST SPECIALTY:
If you're feeling like something other than a taco or a burrito and want to live your healthiest life, order the Cheesy Roll-Up with 180 calories and 9 grams of fat.
BEST SIDE:
Want some chips with that burrito? Sorry, those will cost you a minimum of 230 calories, but you can get a side of black beans for 80 calories and 1.5 grams of fat instead.
BEST DESSERT:
With 160 calories and 9 grams of fat, a 2-pack of Cinnamon Delights is the least offensive dessert on the menu.
