Reviewing the creators of the hamburger is a little daunting—and letting down White Castle's rabid fan base is probably even more intimidating. (Craver nation is no joke!) After much deliberation and eating many, many sliders, I think I've come to a conclusion re: the best White Castle menu items...

Shakes: Vanilla

As a chocolate enthusiast, I was surprised—shocked even—that I liked the vanilla more. The vanilla shake tastes exactly like the soft serve ice cream you'd get during summer vacation. It's soft, custard-like, and the dream combo for your French fries.

Sides: Chicken Rings

If you ever put Bugles on your fingers as a kid, this one's for you. The chicken rings are a great activity, which should never be how anyone judges food, but I make my own rules! Flavor-wise, these chicken rings are crunchier than your standard nugget and are simply way more fun when it comes to dipping.

Sliders: Double Cheese Slider

The regular cheese slider with the bed of onions, pickles, and ketchup is a glorious combo, so doubling the amount of patty and cheese is obviously going to be a fast food lover's dream come true. It's like biting into a meaty, savory pillow. In a good way. Promise.

Seafood: Fish Nibblers

As much as the name makes me cringe, the fish nibblers are your go-to if you're looking for seafood at White Castle. (A strange sentence. I know.) It's made with Alaskan pollock and is super moist while also having a crispy golden savory breading. The true MVP of the seafood round was the tartar sauce—please be sure to get extra.

Desserts: Fudge Dipped Cheesecake On-A-Stick

I know the Gooey Butter Cake On-A-Stick is the golden child at White Castle when it comes to the dessert menu...but the cheesecake on-a-stick had the ideal graham cracker crust-to-cheesecake ratio that I simply could not overlook. The graham cracker crust has a hint of salt and the fudge chocolate dip breaks up the creaminess of the cheesecake. Please don't make me go on.
