Full disclosure: I am NOT a pumpkin person. Every fall, pumpkin is everywhere but frankly, I'm not here for everything tasting like a candle. What I am here for is apple everything. Hot apple cider, cold apple cider, apple cider donuts, apple pie, apple strudel, apple picking - need I go on? And Magic Hour Rooftop Bar & Lounge knows how I feel because they created a massive, 5-pound apple cider donut STUFFED with apple pie filling.

The apple cider batter is piped into a cake-size pan to bake. It's then cut in half (not like bread) and the middles are carved out so they can be filled with caramelized apples that get a generous pour of bourbon. It's drenched in a maple bourbon glaze and topped with huge chunks of spiced crumble and all the sprinkles in the world. I was worried that since the donut was mega-size it wouldn't still taste like a donut, but the consistency was exactly the same as a normal-sized donut. It was fluffy and light and tasted like fall.
