You can count me in wherever the world's best anything is located, but when it comes to the best foods on earth in particular...well, I'll be wherever that is in a heartbeat. So, I'm frantically searching for a cheap flight to France because now at number 1 on The World's Best Restaurants 2019 list is Mirazur, a casual restaurant on a mountain overlooking the French Riviera.

To start, The World's 50 Best points out the fact that the menu wins all, as it's inspired by the sea, the mountains, and the produce grown in its garden. Featuring salt-crusted beetroot picked from the restaurant's garden with caviar cream; fresh eggs from their prized hen, Tina Turner; smoked eel and hazelnuts; and bread infused with ginger (and served with a Pablo Neruda poem—because, why not?), the food alone makes the restaurant worthy of the title.

Of course, excellent food isn't enough to make a restaurant the best in world. Mirazur's menu coupled with its location, atmosphere, and chef—Argentina-native, Mauro Colagreco—really sealed the deal. While guests dine, they experience the most breathtaking views of the French Riviera and are given the option to enjoy them inside in the dining room or outdoors on an airy patio.

Outside, diners will find a three level garden from which cooks get much of their fresh produce in addition to the previously referenced chicken coop, from which they collect eggs (which bears repeating because...Tina Turner is the star hen).

All of this to say that I've added this restaurant to my bucket list and am now getting back to searching for flights to get there for dinner sometime within the next week. Chances of this happening? Slim. But a girl can certainly dream.
