Guy Fieri and longtime pal Sammy Hagar are teaming up for a boozy new business venture. The Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives star and former Van Halen rocker are launching Santo Fino Blanco next month—a tequila Hagar has called the "most amazing" he's ever sipped.
That's some serious praise given the pair's individual reputations in the industry. Obviously, Fieri knows a thing or two about food and drink. His resume includes a slew of successful restaurants, Food Network shows, and product launches—you name it, he's made it: kitchen knives, salsa, coffee, barbecue sauce.
But Hagar's hardly a rookie, either. In fact, this isn't the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer's first foray into liquor. He started his own tequila brand, Cabo Wabo, in the '90s, launched a tequila-mezcal blend in 2017, and even opened up his own chain of eateries, Sammy's Beach Bar & Grill.
Now slated for a May debut, Santo Fino Blanco will cement Fieri and Hagar's partnership in business. "Guy has always been a tequila lover, and when he approached me about creating a tequila together it was perfect timing," Hagar said, according to Food & Wine. "Guy and I shook hands and a few months later we were sipping the most amazing blanco tequila we’d ever tasted."
As far as expertise, Fieri's got it. "There are a few things I know," he added. "Great food, killer drinks, and wild times...and Sammy and I are makin' it all happen with Los Santos." Alright, how 'bout a round of Santo Fino shots!
