preview for How To Transport Your Cake Without A Carrier

From layer cakes to birthday cakes and poke cakes, if you’ve ever baked and decorated a cake at home, you know it is a labor of love that takes time and care. No matter how great your masterpiece looks in your kitchen, though, what really matters is how it looks at the party. Because of this, traveling with a cake can be stressful, especially if you don’t have a carrier.

The sides and top can get smudged, and no matter how careful you are in the car or train on the way to the party, you still have to get the cake cleanly out of its container. There's no worse feeling than seeing your once-perfect frosting and lettering smudged and smashed. Worry no more. This super simple trick is a game changer.

Flip The Script

Instead of trying to very carefully slip your decorated cake into and out of a deep-sided container without touching the sides or trailing your sleeves through the frosting, simply remove the lid from a large Tupperware container and flip it upside down. Next, set your cake on top of it. Then place the Tupperware over the top and press down to snap it into the upturned lid and viola: a homemade cake carrier without any stress.

Adjust For Scale

You can do the same thing with single slices or any leftovers by repeating the process with a smaller Tupperware container. While a cake will still taste the same whether it is smashed or perfectly presented, why settle for anything less than a true reflection of the care and love you put into creating the masterpiece in the first place? Have your cake and eat it too!
