When is Prime Day?

It's here!! Amazon finally announced that its famous Amazon Prime Day would still be happening in 2020: Prime Day starts October 13 and runs through October 14. The site had postponed the annual shopping event earlier this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The company referenced the pandemic in its press release regarding the event.

"In the midst of an unprecedented year, we're committed to making this the most successful Prime Day ever for our small businesses and excited for Prime members worldwide to discover new ways to support local entrepreneurs and save big on everything they need and love," said Jeff Wilke, Amazon CEO Worldwide Consumer. "This year's Prime Day is the perfect opportunity for Prime members to get their holiday shopping done early from the comfort of their homes–and to have more time to spend with their families and friends throughout the season."

How long will Prime Day last?

Prime Day 2020 will last 48 hours—yep, two whole days of sales. Prime Day originally began as a one day event, but last year, the sale switch to a 48-hour model. And India's Prime Day (which happened this August) also lasted 48 hours.

What is Amazon Prime Day?

Products across every single department on Amazon go on sale, and they're known as some of the most competitive sales and prices of the year. You do have to be a current Prime member to get the sales, so check that you're signed up. And if you're not, what are you waiting for? It's only $12.99/month or $119 for the year if you pay an annual lump sum.

This year, there are initiatives in place to support small businesses including shoppable collections from small businesses and deals for Prime members who shop from small businesses.
