Sure, Easter brunch is nice and all, but we really look forward to the holiday for the sweets. Even if you're making festive desserts from scratch, you're probably still buying some candy to fill your Easter baskets (and eggs!). The options for holiday candy are extensive, but none have the same cultural cachet as Peeps.
The bunny and chick-shaped marshmallow treats have been made in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, since 1953. For nearly 75 years, these sweets have developed both a cult following and plenty of detractors. But how could you hate Peeps when they look so cute?
Delish sits squarely on the side of Peep lovers—which is why we've transformed the treats into virtually every dessert under the sun. You may be familiar with the classic shapes and colors, but did you know that there are over a dozen different flavors?
We've tasted every Peeps flavor on the market, and it's safe to say that we have some THOUGHTS. To help you decide which flavors to add to your Easter baskets, we've ranked every one, from worst to best.
15. Sour Watermelon
The Sour Watermelon peeps come with a bright pink center and a dusting of sour green sugar. We're not entirely opposed to sour Peeps, but the watermelon flavor was all wrong.
14. Tropical Punch
We have one word to describe this new Peep for 2025: no. The tropical flavor mostly manifests as a coconut-pineapple combo, which gives sunscreen vibes more than anything else. Go ahead and skip this one.
13. Mike & Ike
If you're a die-hard Mike & Ike fan, you might enjoy the Peeps version. But if your feelings about the candy are less enthusiastic, you can definitely avoid these.
12. Strawberry Delights
In theory, we love the idea of a chocolate-covered Peep (because marshmallows and chocolate are already a perfect pairing). But the chocolate here is too waxy to be enjoyable.
11. S'mores Delights
The same argument againstthe chocolate-covered strawberry flavor applies here. But the toasty graham cracker flavor gives the s'mores version the slightest edge.
10. ICEE Blue Raspberry
We love a Blue Raspberry Icee, but the Peeps rendition doesn't do the flavor any favors.
9. Fruit Punch
This is a pretty polarizing flavor, in our opinion. Kids would probablylove this version, but most adults can probably sit this one out.
8. Chocolate Pudding
We had high hopes for chocolate pudding, but it doesn't hit as hard as we want it to. It tastes vaguely of chocolate, but in the same dull and muted way as Nesquik powder. It's not offensive or gross, but we just want more.
7. Party Cake
We loved the adorable confetti-style sprinkles on the outside of these Peeps. The cake batter flavor may be too cloying for some. But it's still a solid option.
6. Cinnamon Churro
Cinnamon churro is another new flavor for 2025, and it sounded really promising at first. But then you take a closer look at the label and realize they use artificial cinnamon flavor—which makes it taste more like a Hot Tamale than a churro. It's a bit of a letdown, but this flavor does still taste good.
5. Dr Pepper
We may not know what the 23 flavors are that go into a can of Dr Pepper, but they pair really well with the taste of marshmallow. It captures the same creaminess that you'd enjoy in a soda float.
4. Rice Krispies Treats
We've already used Peeps to make a Rice Krispies treat (and it's named a Peepsie treat, obviously). So, working with Rice Krispies Treat is a natural Peeps partnership. Admittedly, it doesn't taste that different from the original—but it's still really good.
3. Breyers Cookies & Cream
Another 2025 release and it's another collaboration—this time with ice cream brand Breyers. This cookies and cream flavor comes in the form of a standard vanilla marshmallow coated in chocolate flecks. I'm not sure how well it reads as "cookies and cream," but it tastes so good that it doesn't matter. The chocolate adds the perfect amount of bitterness and depth to this nostalgic treat.
2. Classic
You know them; you love them. The original Peeps are Easter staples for a reason—we literally have no bad things to say.
1. Cotton Candy
We went into this taste test fully expecting the original Peeps to end up on top, but then the cotton candy flavor blew us away. The light cotton candy flavor works perfectly with the marshmallow. The blue speckles on the outside are a little disconcerting at first, but every bite is literal heaven.
