The best way to use peanut butter is load it onto a spoon and lick to your heart's content. But the stuff can be used as more than just food. Here are the weirdest ways.
Sticker Remover
Think of peanut butter as an all-natural Goo Gone. It strips glass and plastic of that annoying residue left from price tags and labels.
Shaving Cream
In dire situations — say, when you're on a camping trip and realize you didn't pack shaving cream — peanut butter can be a decent stand-in. Brave guinea pigs have proven it works, but not without a few complaints, like stinging skin and clogged razors.
Medicine Disguiser
Dogs are notorious for a couple things: loving peanut butter and hating pills. If you need to give medicine to your pup, try smothering it in peanut butter first.
Gum Remover
Just as peanut butter reduces the tackiness of labels, it can reduce the stickiness of gum. Next time you get a wad stuck in your hair, try slathering it with peanut butter before wiggling it out.
Mouse Trap
Rumor has it that mice are more attracted to the smell of peanut butter than cheese (hazelnut spread works, too). Try placing a little in the middle of a mouse trap. The sticky substance is also harder to grab and run away with.
Odor Blocker
After cooking anything especially fragrant (looking at you, fish), rub the empty pan you used with a few tablespoons of peanut butter. Cook it on high for two minutes, and the nutty smell will completely absorb any other odors.
Wood Repairer
The natural oils in peanut butter can be useful in smoothing out scratches in wood. Rub some into the mark, let it sit for up to an hour, then rub it away.
Ice Cream Cone Sealant
To prevent drops of vanilla coming out of the bottom of your cone, line the inner bottom point with a dab of peanut butter. It'll seal whatever small hole is there.
Squeak Eliminator
WD-40 has a competitor in peanut butter. It can lubricate a squeaky hinge with just as much success.
