When Al Roker isn't busy reporting the weather on the Today show, he's working on expanding his literary empire.
The NBC personality has published multiple books throughout his time on the hit morning show, and he recently spoke with Parade about authoring even more titles. When talking to the outlet about what he has up his sleeve, Al announced his plans to expand his Morning Show Murders series (also known as the Billy Blessing books) with a fourth novel. Titled Murder on Demand, he shared how excited he was for the new installment to debut in April.
"Actually, there is another one, and it’s part of the 'Billy Blessing' series," he disclosed in December 2023. "Its background is the streaming wars. That’ll be coming out next year."
Al also disclosed his plan to release another book project, but this one has some personal ties. He revealed that he's working on a sentimental cookbook with his daughter Courtney Laga, which centers around foods his family has made throughout the years.
"The theme is family recipes that I’ve made, that Courtney’s made, that my mom made, [wife] Deborah [Roberts]’ mom made, that Deborah does, and a couple of my sisters,' he elaborated about the exciting venture. "It just revolves around family and friends ... It’s been a long time in the making. They’re all recipes that I grew up with from a young kid to today."
Consider us intrigued by both prospects! While we don't have any official info about when Al's collaboration with Courtney will hit bookshelves, we do have clues about his upcoming book Murder on Demand.
According to an official description, the novel will follow Billy Blessing as he steps into a new life in the Hamptons a decade after the events of The Talk Show Murders (the third title in the Morning Show Murders series), and finds himself roped back into sleuthing after a woman stumbles into his restaurant looking for her father and his washed up boat.
We don't know about you, but we can't wait to get our hands on this one.
