As one of the original hosts on The View, Joy Behar has fans tuning in to hear her opinions on a number of hot topics. Whether it be political or thoughts about the latest pop culture moment, seeing Joy with her co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin, is something viewers look forward to every day.
But in mid-December, the TV personality shocked viewers when she was absent from The View. Given how this isn't something that often occurs with Joy (despite her weekly day off from the camera on Mondays), folks immediately got concerned. What's more, people got even more curious after seeing actress Yvette Nicole Brown step in for her as guest host, leading to more questions about Joy's whereabouts.
Where is Joy Behar on The View?
As Whoopi detailed at the top of the December 12 taping, Joy is taking time away from The View to recover after testing positive for COVID-19.
"Joy is out this week. You know why? She finally got COVID," Whoopi explained to the audience, per Entertainment Weekly. "Three years, four years in, it finally got her."
It seems like Joy, despite having the virus, is doing well, as Sara reportedly joked that she can "finally stop bragging" about never getting sick with COVID-19.
Whoopi also stepped away from the season 27 premiere back in September to recover from COVID-19, while Sunny and Ana famously had false positive tests for the virus in September 2021, right before going on the air with Vice President Kamala Harris.
We hope Joy gets better soon, and we can't wait to see her back on the air!
