Kelly Ripa was *not* having it when it came to a certain audience rule on her talk show, Live With Kelly and Mark. On October 10, the actor and host met the owner of Kelly Ripug—yes, that’s a pug named after her—ahead of the show’s live taping. “You’re the owner of Kelly Ripug?” Kelly asked excitedly, referring to the Insta-famous pup.
Kelly Ripug’s owner, Jerry Power, wore a T-shirt with his pet’s face on it and confirmed that he holds the title of Dog Dad. Kelly then said she was “obsessed” and offered to snap a pic with him before admitting she wanted to meet Kelly Ripug.
“I brought you and Mark shirts, but they said I can’t give them to you,” Jerry told the talk show host before revealing he wasn’t allowed to bring his pooch into the studio. “This is such bullshit!” Kelly jokingly exclaimed toward the camera, getting a laugh out of surrounding audience members.
“This is, like, the best moment of my life. I’m dying,” Jerry said. “You’re my Judy Garland.”
She eagerly accepted the gift of Jerry’s tees and called her husband and cohost, Mark Consuelos, over to meet him. “This is the owner of Kelly Ripug, the dog,” Kelly said as he walked over. Mark’s reaction though? So adorbs and wholesome.
“Oh my god! This is for me?” he said as he took the Kelly Ripug T-shirt. Jerry then posed for a pic with the hosts, who gushed that they were “so happy” to meet him. 🥹
Kelly Ripug as a guest on Live With Kelly and Mark...I would like to see it!
