Kourtney Kardashian, 44, announced over the weekend that she's having her first child with husband Travis Barker, 47. The Kardashians star broke the news at a Blink-182 concert, in one of the most iconic pregnancy announcements this year (and, ICYDK, there's been some stiff competition in that department).
On June 16, Kourtney attended Travis' show (Travis is the drummer for Blink-182) at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles. The eldest Kardashian sister held up a "Travis I'm Pregnant" sign that got the entire stadium's attention (and appeared on the big screen at the show). Her hubby even hopped off stage to give her a hug and a kiss upon seeing the sign. Awww.
Objectively, it's a very cool announcement, and it probably pays homage to one of Blink-182's most iconic music videos. Kourtney and Travis have also been talking about having a baby together for a while, so this is, overall, massively exciting news. Here's everything to know about their pregnancy so far:
The announcement is probably a callback to "All The Small Things."
The Kardashians are masters at curating their publicity, and Kourtney's pregnancy announcement might have seemed spontaneous for some, but I'm guessing it was very carefully planned.
The sign that the Lemme Gummies founder held at Travis' show was extremely similar to a moment in Blink-182's "All The Small Things" music video. The video features the band surrounded by fans holding signs at several moments, and one sign reads "Travis I'm Pregnant." Kourtney hasn't outwardly confirmed she meant to mimic the iconic moment, and some fans are speculating if Travis was totally surprised by her announcement, but I'd say it was all thoroughly planned. A source also recently told PEOPLE that her family has known about the pregnancy for "a while."
They've been together since January 2021.
Kourtney and Travis' relationship has been going strong for several years. After a few flirty comments were exchanged on the 'Gram (as these things typically go), the couple confirmed their relationship in January 2021. By October of the same year, they were engaged and got officially hitched in May 2022.
Travis and Kourtney have wanted to have kids for a while.
It's been a long time coming. In 2020, a fan asked the Poosh founder if she was pregnant via Instagram, to which Kourtney responded "No I wish." Later, in October 2021, shortly after the couple first got engaged, a source told E! News that they would "love nothing more than to have a baby together."
In March 2022, a segment on an episode of The Kardashians also revealed that the couple was exploring options for IVF. In another episode, Kourtney also commented on the effect of social media on her hopes for getting pregnant, telling her mom: "It's so rude to comment on people when you have no idea what they're actually going through."
Naturally, the couple was very excited to announce their pregnancy. Kourtney captioned her latest Instagram picture, which revealed her baby bump, “Overwhelmed with gratitude and joy for God’s blessing and plan.” and Travis similarly commented: "God is great 🙏❤️."
The couple has six other children from previous relationships.
Both Kourtney and Travis have three children from previous relationships. Kourtney is the mother of three children with her ex-boyfriend Scott Disick: sons Mason, 13 and Reign, 9, and daughter Penelope, 11. Fun fact: Mason and Reign share a birthday, December 14.
Travis, similarly, shares two children with his ex-wife Shanna Moakler: his son Landon, 19, and daughter Alabama, 17. He also has a very close relationship with his former stepdaughter Atiana De La Hoya, 24, Shanna Moakler's daughter.
Kourtney's due date is probably later this year.
Kourtney has not confirmed an exact due date for her baby, but it's likely that they will be born sometime between October and December 2023, given that she's announced her pregnancy publicly. Most pregnant people announce their pregnancies around 12 weeks. If Kourtney was exactly 12 weeks when she announced her pregnancy on Friday, that means her due date is around late December 2023.
It's also unclear whether Kourtney will be having a boy or a girl, but one thing is for certain: she is very excited. "Kourtney can’t wait to be a [new] mom again. Her older kids are excited about the baby too,” a source recently told PEOPLE.
