Whether you're the type to enthusiastically tackle your home's dirtiest nooks and crannies every weekend or are completely overwhelmed by the thought of cleaning, there's one spot that's easy to forget: the walls. That's where this insanely popular TikTok-famous wall mop comes in.

If you haven't seen it yet, the wall mop is one of the most popular cleaning products on TikTok. It wipes away dirt and dust from large surface areas that can take hours to clean by hand. Expandable up to 60 inches long, it reaches the tops of your walls, to the ceiling and molding. And while it's truly a game changer for wall cleaning, there are many other useful ways to put it to work.

"It helps people clean things you don't usually remember to clean, like the top of kitchen cabinets," says Carolyn Forte, Executive Director of the Home Care & Cleaning Lab at the Good Housekeeping Institute. "Vertical surfaces like walls collect dust, too. It's just harder to see, so we tend to ignore it. Fingerprints around door frames and light switches also need cleaning."

According to Forte, the expandable handle makes it easy to access hard-to-reach places, and the teardrop-shaped mop head allows you to swipe it across large surfaces and target tight corners alike. However, she recommends checking that any surface you are cleaning can safely be wet-cleaned before using the spray solution.

Despite its wacky appearance, the wall mop is simple to use. Start by wetting the mop pad with water, wringing it out and spritzing the pad generously with wall cleaning spray. Then, wipe down whatever surface you're cleaning, and let the mop work its magic.

Word about this handy contraption started spreading when @livecomposed posted a TikTok using the mop with soap and water to clean their walls. The video went viral, but they were using the mop wrong. It's much more effective with the accompanying wall-cleaning spray. So they made another video showing how much better it works with the spray, and it's since racked up over 50 million views.

The spray is specially formulated to cut through stains, dirt and dust on painted surfaces without damaging the finish or leaving any residue (@livecomposed even used it to clean off Sharpie). Plus, the microfiber pads are machine washable and reusable, so it's an easy tool to use again and again.

Users all over TikTok have claimed how much time it has saved them, especially parents with kids who wreak havoc on the walls. They've also used it to clean bathtubs and showers, outdoor windows and doors and baseboards (no more crawling around on your hands and knees).

If you're still feeling skeptical, check out the nearly 7,000 Amazon reviews that netted a respectable 4.3-star rating. A few reviewers complained about the sturdiness of the pole, but the latest model is made of durable stainless steel, which resolves that problem. Still, try not to push too hard on the pole — it's all about friction and repetition.

According to reviewers, this mop is ideal for cleaning large surface areas in record time, but you may need to go through and spot-clean any particularly grimy spots (think dried food splatters or scuff marks) with a sponge afterward.
