Bad news: Season 27 of The Bachelor is coming to a close. Good news: It's time to speculate who the next Bachelorette could be. Though we here at Cosmo have come up with a list of guesses using our our v extensive ~Bach knowledge~, NOTHING could have prepared us for Reality Steve's mic drop moment today in which he announced who he believes got the job.
After this killer GIF is info on who will lead the next season of The Bachelorette...i.e., major spoilers. You! Have! Been! Warned!
'Kay, so who is the next Bachelorette?!?!
On March 6, fearless gossip king Reality Steve took to Twitter to announce that the next Bachelorette is *drumroll, pls*...Charity Lawson! However, the post does still maintain, “Nothing is ever final until ABC officially announces it, but from everything I’m hearing it’s going to be Charity. I would expect this announcement to be made sometime in the next few weeks.”
Welp, there you have it folks! Tender pic of Charity and Zach incoming just because:
Here's a quick lil refresher on Charity
The 26-year-old soon-to-be Bachelorette is a child and family therapist and swiftly became a fan fave because of her good-hearted nature and general lack of drama/antics. “I am a recent graduate of Auburn University with my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. As a growing therapist, my populations of interest include trauma, child developmental disorders, anxiety, veterans, couples, and families. I carry a strong passion for helping others and am a strong advocate for promoting self-care and wellness,” her LinkedIn bio reads. “My goal is, wherever I may go, I want to leave an impact on someone’s life by ensuring and fulfilling positive change for humanity, while also connecting and promoting a diverse environment that creates long-lasting interpersonal relationships.” Couldn't hate her if I tried!
According to our handy-dandy spoilers, we also know that Zach obvi likes her too since she makes it all the way to Hometowns, where the tech executive met Charity's family. (Though that's as far as Charity goes in the current Bach competition, as the final three contestants wind up being Ariel Frenkel, Kaity Biggar, and Gabi Elnicki.)
But don't cry because it's over, smile because some (me) could argue that being the new Bachelorette is actually the best prize of them all.
Charity was praised for her one-on-one date with Zach in Estonia
Over a v romantic candlelit dinner, Charity spoke with Zach about a previous relationship in which she had experienced emotional abuse, and she had a vulnerable moment that resonated with tons of folks back home. “Who I am today is not who you would've seen years ago,” she said. “The relationship prior to being here was…it was an emotionally abusive relationship for me. I never honestly felt what it feels like to be seen as a partner or to be seen as a girlfriend.”
Charity then told Zach that, in the past, she had dealt with, “occurrences of infidelity.” “It was with someone that I knew, but also the person that I loved at the time also did this awful thing to me...And it just became this really vicious cycle of manipulation.”
Zach comforted her and said he actually understood the feeling of getting lost in a relationship—specifically his most recent one. “I remember I had a moment where I was like, I don't even know what my favorite music is because I neglected my own.” The date ended with Zach offering her a rose, which she accepted. It's no wonder Bachelor Nation loves her with moments like these!
No, but like actually...
Anyway, here's live footage of me trying to speed through the next few months so Charity can finally have her moment:
