This evening, many members of the royal family gathered outside Buckingham Palace for a Jubilee-inspired concert celebrating the Queen's 70th year on the throne. The event, known as the Platinum Party at the Palace, featured performances by musicians like Diana Ross, the band Queen, and Rod Stewart, as well as ballet dancers and West End musical actors. And while the Queen wasn't physically at the event, she was there in spirit, appearing in a brand new short film with fellow British icon Paddington Bear.
But while Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been spotted at a few Platinum Jubilee events, including Trooping the Colour and the National Service of Thanksgiving at St. Paul's, they were not in attendance at the spectacle tonight.
Instead the couple spent the day privately. In addition to the Jubilee, today is a special milestone specifically for the Sussexes: their only daughter Lili is turning one. While we have yet to see baby Lili or her older brother Archie in public this week, the Sussexes confirmed their children would be traveling to the UK. “Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are excited and honoured to attend The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations this June with their children,” reads a statement shared by a spokesperson for the Sussexes in early May.
The Sussexes have yet to confirm any other appearances for their time in the UK, so it's unclear at this point if they will be at tomorrow's celebratory pageant, or if they have any other planned public engagements during their trip.
