Dylan Dreyer is making the news once more — and not just because she’s an NBC meteorologist and a cohost of the Today show's third hour.
In March 2021, Dylan excitedly announced her first book, Misty the Cloud: A Very Stormy Day, which she had been working on for over 10 years. To no surprise, the adorable-illustrated book became a big hit among her fans — especially those with kids. Fast forward to March 2022, and Dylan had yet another surprise up her sleeve.
“I can’t wait to share with you how Misty the Cloud’s world is expanding,” she captioned a zoomed-in teaser photo on her Instagram. After sharing the news of her second book, Misty the Cloud: Friends Through Rain or Shine, on the Today show, Dylan took to Instagram once more to reveal the book’s cover and plot.
“[It’s] a story about sharing and compromise with the bonus of learning about rainbows,” she exclaimed. According to the new children's book description, Friends Through Rain or Shine tells the story of two groups who are more different than alike but that doesn't stop them from creating something beautiful together.
"When Misty's party with her cloud pals is interrupted by a group of sunbeams, Misty goes from cool and calm to a bit heated," it reads. "The clouds and sunbeams have a very hard time putting aside their differences and agreeing on a game. But when they do finally find a way to come together, they all make something beautiful: a big rainbow!"
Just as with her first book, Dylan’s fans were quick to share in her excitement, leaving heartwarming messages in her comments section.
“Oh my goodness, congratulations! Misty is my 3-year-old granddaughter’s new favorite since I gave it to her for Christmas! So excited to be able to share another one with her,” one person wrote. “I am just getting these for myself. Love them,” another added. “We love your first book at our house, can't wait for this one (from another mom of three boys 💙💙💙)! 🥰,” a different fan said.
Misty the Cloud: Friends Through Rain or Shine is available for pre-order now and will debut later this fall. While the release is currently slated for September 13, it’s worth mentioning that Dylan’s first book got delayed by a few weeks due to small hiccups in the publishing process, so try not to get too attached to the current date.
