Al Roker and Deborah Roberts are in awe of their son, Nick.
On March 21, the ABC News correspondent posted a heartwarming photo of the Today show weatherman with their youngest child. In the pic, Al and Nick sit side-by-side in their home. The father-son duo both smile at the camera. "My boys! #blessed," Deborah captioned the sweet family snap.
Shortly after, the Today coanchor reposted his photo with Nick on his own Instagram. "When did this guy get so big? And handsome? And funny? And kind? And smart?" he wrote alongside it.
After seeing Al share the pic with a heartfelt message, Deborah stopped in to lovingly answer his rhetorical questions about Nick. "He was always all this. Except so grownup! π," she commented.
The sweet exchange between the parents warmed the hearts of fans, including fellow meteorologist Hollie Strano. "π Great family! The END β€οΈπ," she wrote. Others also couldn't enough of the heartfelt family moment. "Great parents - lots of love & care & setting good examples β€οΈ," one person wrote. "He's all of these things because of the wonderful parents he has. β€οΈ," another added. "Time flies. They grow up so fast. Enjoy the little things and the moments. π π π," a different fan said.
While Al doesn't post as many family photos as Deborah, he never misses an opportunity to share how proud he is of their 19 year old son. Most recently, in December, Al and Deborah proudly announced that Nick had been accepted into college. βI got accepted. Iβm not even kidding,β the college bound student said in an Instagram video. βIβm excited!β
Not too long after, Deborah found herself trying to "hold back tears" while revealing the "good news" on The View. βMany of you know, we have been on a journey with our son, Nick, who over his lifetime has been dealing with learning disabilities, developmental disabilities,β she said on the show. βBut he has accomplished so many things β¦ He just got accepted into college.β
Though Nick has yet to share which school he'll be attending in the fall β he received two college admissions letters β it's clear both Deborah and Al are enjoying every moment with him in the meantime. As the married couple of 26 years prepare to become empty nesters (they've sent their daughter, Leila Ruth, off to college already!), fans are definitely along for the ride.
