Kelly Clarkson can't wait to honor her close friend and country music legend Dolly Parton.

In a recent taping of The Kelly Clarkson Show, The Voice coach shared with fans that she will have to privilege to pay tribute to the Queen of Country at the upcoming 2022 Academy of Country Music Awards. This year, the ACM Awards is welcoming back artists and fans to an in-person event in Las Vegas on March 7 hosted by Dolly. Apart from taking the stage for a performance, which will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video, Kelly revealed that she "has a special tribute planned just for her."

What's more, the American Idol alum surprised her studio audience with tickets to the live event. Although Kelly didn't let in viewers on the songs she'll be including in the lineup, there might be good reason to believe that she'll be singing Dolly's "9 to 5."

Kelly and Dolly's fans quickly took to the YouTube comments to share their excitement. One person wrote: "Dolly writes stories and Kelly is SUCH a storyteller when she sings. This will be EPIC! Two immensely talented women. We stan!" Another added: "WOW!! I'm soo excited too see you there with Dolly 😍I love your singing ❤️ You both are amazing!" A different fan said on Instagram: "Couldn't have pick a better person!!! ❤️ I can't wait to hear it!"

What's more, folks started putting in song requests. A follower commented on YouTube: " I hope she sings 'I Will Always Love You.' Would love to hear her sing the original country version." As fans may know, the 1973 hit song was originally written and recorded by Dolly as a farewell to her business partner and mentor Porter Wagoner after the singer decided to pursue a solo career. The song reached commercial success and was a Billboard Country Music chart-topper. It's no wonder fans are hoping love to see Kelly belt it out.

This won't be the first time Kelly will be performing Dolly's songs. For the premiere of The Kelly Clarkson Show, The Voice star covered "9 to 5." Kelly and Dolly also rerecorded the song for the documentary Still Working 9 to 5.
