We have a love-hate relationship with our favorite (or would it be least favorite?) horror films, because they always send us flying over to the other side of the couch. And yet, we still choose to watch them year after year. It's the kind of behavior that might make someone say, "You couldn't pay me to do that!"

But...what if someone really did pay you?

Just when you think this year couldn't get any crazier, a cable company has decided to give one "(un)lucky fan" of Stephen King $1,300 to watch 13 of The King of Horror's scary movies before Halloween. If hours of chills and thrills and twists and turns is your idea of a good time, then this quirky job is right up your (dark, abandoned) alley.

Here's what you'll need to watch:

  • Carrie (original or 2013 remake)
  • Children of the Corn
  • Christine
  • Creepshow
  • Cujo
  • It (original or 2017 remake)
  • It: Chapter Two
  • Misery
  • The Mist
  • Pet Semetary (original or 2019 remake)
  • Salem's Lot
  • The Shining
  • Doctor Sleep

You'll also need to track everything about your experience. What was your heart rate during jump scares? Were scary thoughts running through your mind the whole time? Did you have trouble sleeping? You've got to monitor every spooky moment to get paid the big bucks.

This is seriously the nightmare dream job! If you want to apply, you can fill out an application here before October 8, 2021.

Good luck!
