Britney Spears has been in the news nonstop since the release of the unauthorized documentary, Framing Britney. The New York Times doc exposed the years of media scrutiny, public backlash, and sexism Brit experienced throughout her career. It also gave insight into the #FreeBritney movement, which is an effort from fans to advocate that Britney is released from her conservatorship. Britney’s former makeup artist, Billy Brasfield, even thinks that Brit's being controlled so much that she doesn't even write her own Instagram captions.

WATCH THE DOC

"No, I’m not talking to him at all. I write my posts," Britney tells TMZ in response to Billy alleging to Page Six that she "told him she had no control" over her recent Instagram post's caption. She continued, "I’m not sure who he is talking to, but I am not talking to Billy B."

Billy explained to the outlet, “The content is her, but…the words are NOT how she feels. I immediately knew it was not her. I texted her about it and she texted me back last night.”

“I didn’t watch the documentary but from what I did see of it I was embarrassed by the light they put me in … I cried for two weeks and well …. I still cry sometimes !!!!" she wrote in the recent post of a video showing her dancing. "I do what I can in my own spirituality with myself to try and keep my own joy ... love ... and happiness."

Hmm, well Billy and Brit are clearly not on the same page. Plus, he isn't the only person who is concerned that Britney doesn't have control of her social media. Her IG posts are full of comments from fans theorizing whether or not Britney's posts are genuinely what she wants to share.

But, if she says it's her then we've gotta take her word for it... right?
