Beyoncé's journey to get back to her pre-baby shape was a huge focus of her Netflix documentary Homecoming, and it was amazing to see just how hard she worked to get ready to perform at Coachella in 2018 after having twins. But now, Queen Bey is opening up about her weight again, and she’s got a message for everyone out there: She doesn’t care what you think of it.
The topic came up during an Ask Me Anything with fans for ELLE magazine. One fan asked, "Everybody's weight fluctuates. How does it make you feel when people are constantly commenting on your appearance?"
Beyoncé came back with an answer that was both super relatable and oh-so-Beyoncé at the same time: "If someone told me 15 years ago that my body would go through so many changes and fluctuations, and that I would feel more womanly and secure with my curves, I would not have believed them,” she said.
But Bey also said that having kids and growing up “have taught me to value myself beyond my physical appearance and really understand that I am more than enough no matter what stage I'm at in life.”
And then things got really awesome. “Giving zero fucks is the most liberating place to be,” Beyoncé continued: “Also knowing true beauty is something you cannot see. I wish more people focused on discovering the beauty within themselves rather than critiquing other folks' grills."
And there you have it: a total knowledge drop, courtesy of Beyoncé. Read the rest of the piece on ELLE.
