I know when I say that this pie tastes like a slice of heaven you're going to think "Yeah, you would say that—it's your recipe," but guys: This pecan pie tastes like heaven. Pecan pie is typically made with corn syrup for that amazing gooey texture; here, I've opted for dark brown sugar instead, which mimics the texture and gives it a caramelized flavor without being too cloyingly sweet or sticky.

Brown butter also adds a warm nutty flavor to the filling that works so well with the hint of smokiness from bourbon. I only use a tablespoon of bourbon here, which might not seem like a lot, but it's just enough to add depth without making the pie taste boozy.

Beyond bourbon, I gave this pie one more twist: dark chocolate. A healthy dose of chopped dark chocolate takes this pecan pie to a whole new level; if you've never had chocolate in your pecan pie before, prepare to be a convert.
