There are so many great characters that embody the Halloween spirit. There's Casper, Coraline, the whole Addams family… the list goes on. Out of all of them Jack Skellington (of The Nightmare Before Christmas) might be the most beloved. You can make the Pumpkin King yourself with a few simple ingredients, we think it's the cutest Halloween treat ever.
It all starts with Oreos — preferably Halloween Oreos if you wanna get extra festive. There's no flavor difference so don't stress if you can't find 'em. Using lollipop sticks, turn your Oreos into pops! Dunk them in a combination of white chocolate and coconut oil and stick them in the fridge to harden — it should only take about 5 minutes. When it comes to coating things in chocolate, coconut oil is your best friend. It basically turns regular old chocolate into chocolate shell. Magic!
Next comes the fun part — making the faces! There are many black gel icings out there with small tips, but I found emptying them into a small bowl and using a toothpick as a brush is more precise. I stuck to Jack's mischievous smile but make it your own and give him a whole plethora of expressions if you want! Finish it off with a bow — definitely optional, but we found it makes the little guys 10x cuter. Next stop, Halloweentown!
