1Candy Necklaces
Adam Gault/Getty ImagesCandy necklaces had a clear advantage over their loose, plastic-wrapped kin — you could keep the sweet bites with you without having to hold them, then take a bite when the mood struck.
2Bit-O-Honey
Courtesy of the Family NutsIf you want a candy that will keep you busy, this one's for you. Made with bits of almonds folded into a honey-flavored taffy, these tiny treats are constantly chewy in the best possible way. Your dentist might not like it, but each piece has you enjoying the sticky flavor longer than you'd expect.

3Fun Dip
Courtesy of the Candy WarehouseDon't act like you're too old for this hands-on sweet. Fun Dip ranks right up there with Pixie Sticks on the list of ways to most quickly ingest the most sugar, but we love the mix-and-match quality of this candy.
4Air Heads
Courtesy of the Sweet City CandyThin and taffy-like, Air Heads now come in flavors well beyond their original variety. Luckily the classics (and our favorites) are still going strong, from Watermelon to White Mystery. When trick-or-treating comes to an end for the night, you can always negotiate a candy exchange for your favorite flavors.

5Peas and Carrots

This candy's flavors and textures don't make much sense together, but its appearance really is perfect for an innocent (and sweet) Halloween trick.
6Root Beer Barrels
Courtesy of Troyer Country MarketHard candy might not be the most welcome addition to a ghoulish goodie bag, but if we were to make an exception for one, this would be it. The soda-sweet treats are even made by root beer companies like IBC, so you can be sure to enjoy that signature taste you love in the bottle.

7Nik-L-Nips
Courtesy of Evan Amos/Wikimedia CommonsLargely gone from the Halloween candy-giving circle, these wax bottles are still widely available in candy stores and online groceries. Named partly after their original price (a nickel, can you believe it?!), these handy little packs are filled with sweet, flavored syrup. These days, most of us would pass on chewing the wax like gum as it was originally intended, but we can all still enjoy their little kick of sugar.
8Bottle Caps
Courtesy of Candy WarehouseWe love soda, we love candy; it was only a matter of time before the two were put together. No matter which flavor you pick out (everyone does it), this is a candy the whole family can love together. Even though bottle caps themselves are few and far between, the flavors in this treat are timeless and we're hoping they stick around.

9Sweet and Sour Pops
Courtesy of Candy WarehouseHalf sour, half sweet, these pops have a lot more pow than their singularly sweet cousins. When the sour fruit flavor gets too intense, just flip it over to the soothing sweet side. Though Charms has nixed its totally sour sucker, these half-and-half treats can still be found online.
10Bubble Tape
Courtesy of The Crazy Candy ShoppeBubble tape boasts a perfectly powdered roll of gum that never sticks, allowing you to personalize your portion. Just watch out — if you give it out, you might find someone pilfering more inches than you'd like to share. Good thing 24-count boxes can be found online!

Didn't like the orange? No problem! You could switch just that little pack for a piece of someone else's candy. In comparison, Starburst really makes you work for your sweet treat.
12Runts
Courtesy of the Sweet City CandyOver the years the Runts lineup has changed several times, leaving us in the dark about some flavors. The green runt has been switched three times, from lime to watermelon to green apple. If you were always a banana lover, you're not alone. Those particular runts have such a following that they're being packaged separately as Bananarama.

13Boston Baked Beans
Courtesy of Candy WarehouseCovering fresh foods in a candy coating is certainly no new concept. Apples, sunflower seeds, almonds, you name it — they've all successfully undergone the candy treatment. In this case, peanuts get a sweet hit of candy coating. Crunchy, sweet, and actually calorically satisfying, Boston Baked Beans are here to stay.
14Chuckles
Courtesy of Candy CrateEven though they now come in a box, the multi-colored tray is what we all remember. Tender jelly candies covered in sugar are a sure-fire hit in any gummy-loving household. Just don't let the dark one fool you — it's licorice, not grape.

15Lemonheads
Courtesy of Illinois NutOne of the original sour candies, lemonheads sparked our taste bud tingling addiction. They're much more enjoyable than the dare devil sour candies that followed (Warheads, anyone?) and a much more welcome sight in the mix of Halloween day candy hauls.
16Ring Pop
Courtesy of Candy ManiaRing Pops might have the been the candy answer to the popularity of the board game Pretty Pretty Princess. If so, it was a serious upgrade — a Ring Pop makes for a pretty impressive rock.

18Necco Wafers
Courtesy of the Sweet City CandyFor those born after Necco Wafer's prime, the most striking characteristic of these candies was how deceptive their flavors were — cinnamon was white, clove was purple, and wintergreen was pink. Despite those tricks, Necco has expanded this treat into chocolate and smoothie varieties.

19Tootsie Pops
Courtesy of Candy MafiaTrying to answer the question, "How many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop?" was an exercise in frustration. The more interesting question might be where all the rumors came from about "special" wrappers that won you free candy. The world may never know.
20Push Pops
Courtesy of Candy WarehouseIt seemed like such a genius idea: let kids carry around their hard candy to enjoy later without any mess. Unfortunately, we all found out the hard way that you exchange a sticky pocket for a seriously sticky finger if you choose this candy.
