Update, October 1, 2020: The weather is finally cooling down which means we are primed to eat all the heavy, comforting, and stick-to-your-ribs foods that summer heat does not always allow. If you're not super into doing dishes however, you can sink your teeth into Sonic's Garlic Butter Bacon Burger once again, because the chain is bringing it on back for a limited time only.

Sonic is bringing back both the Jr. and the full-size Garlic Bacon Butter Burgers for a limited-time this fall. For the uninitiated, these burgers are SEARED in garlic butter, TOPPED with bacon, and DRESSED with mayo and grilled onions. It's basically like a rich, savory hug. My favorite kind!

Just like last year, these will be gone before you know it, so put on your coziest sweater and your stretchiest pants and head on down to Sonic ASAP.

Original post, September 27, 2019: Name me something that smells better and tastes better than butter and garlic on a stove top. You CAN'T! Unless you named bacon—then OK, maybe you win. Well, Sonic just announced a Jr. Garlic Butter Bacon Burger that combines all these elements...and puts them on top of a cheeseburger. No stove required.

The Jr. Garlic Butter Bacon Burger takes your typical bacon cheeseburger and sears garlic butter on the patty for a stupidly rich flavor. I mean, come on, it's bacon, burger, cheese, butter, and garlic. There's a lot of savory flavors going on here. It also has mayo and grilled onions on a toasted bakery bun. Oh also there's a side of a tots. I told you—a lot going on!

The Jr. version will run you $2.99, but if you really wanna get intense, you can also get it in a quarter-pound size Garlic Butter Bacon Burger for $4.79. If you attempt that one, you have my respect!

YouTuber RockerickEats already gave the burger a shot and handed out rave reviews, saying that it tasted pretty intensely of garlic and that though it was a simple concept, it's a burger definitely worth trying because of how well-executed it is.

These burgers are available now at Sonic but you can only get them for a pretty limited time: through November 3. You only have a few weeks to cop garlic and butter and bacon in a burger. Get on it!
