Australia's latest truffle find officially makes the country a contender against France's black truffle trade. According to Good Food, Yelverton Truffles in New South Wales, Australia dug up the country's biggest truffle to date, weighing in at about 2.5 pounds (1.172 kilograms). The farm owners had to take the specimen to their local post office because their scales were too small to read the heavier-than-usual object. The monster truffle was sold for somewhere between $2,000 and $2,500 to chef Robin Murray of the restaurant at Centennial Vineyards in Australia.
