George Clooney Cocktail

Millions of hearts broke this weekend as women everywhere learned that the world's (formerly) most unattainable bachelor, George Clooney, became engaged to the beautiful and brainy human rights attorney, Amal Alamuddin.

Once the tears stopped flowing, and the pint of rocky road ran dry, we thought we'd toast to the handsome playboy, and suggest a signature cocktail for the couple's nuptials.

This cocktail uses Clooney's own high-end silver tequila, Casamigos ($44.99 for 750mL), which he likes on the rocks or "straight from the bottle." But seeing as this will be a classy affair, we decided to temper the booze with a lively blend of fresh-squeezed citrus fit for a blushing bride. We suspect the wedding will be at his legendary estate near Lake Como so we topped off the drink with a splash of Campari for a little Italiano twist.

LUCKY LADY
Makes: 1 cocktail

• 4 Tbsp. (2 oz.) freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
• 3 Tbsp. (1 1/2 oz.) silver tequila
• 2 Tbsp (1 oz.) Campari
• 2 Tbsp. (1 oz.) freshly squeezed orange juice
• 1 Tbsp. (1/2 oz.) freshly squeezed lemon juice
• 1/2 tsp. agave nectar or honey
• Mint, for garnish

1. Combine all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice.

2. Cover and shake until very cold.

3. Strain into cocktail glass.

4. Garnish with mint and ironclad prenuptial agreement, if desired.

Look! George's bride-to-be stopped by to sample the cocktail. We hope you include the drink on your wedding menu, Amal!
