In case the first thing you think of when you're eating fried chicken is, "This could really use a side of funnel cake," KFC has got you covered. According to Brand Eating, the fast food chain is taking inspiration from state fair food by testing funnel cake fries as part of a Sweet & Savory Go Cup. The test, which is taking place in Baltimore, features Funnel Fries — the "fries" are actually strips of funnel cake sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar, instead of the usual potato wedges. Apparently, the idea came from the classic chicken and waffles combination. "Chicken and waffles are all the rage right now, and this is a unique twist on that culinary trend," explained a spokesperson for KFC.
