The Huy Fong Foods Sriracha company has had a tough month. First the hot sauce makers dealt with a factory shutdown as a result of the factory's smell, and now all Sriracha is being held for 35 days by California's Department of Public Health. According to the Associated Press, the Department of Public Health has begun implementing tougher rules and the state is now saying that all the sauces must be held for 35 days before shipment. It's unclear what holding the sauces accomplishes, but it looks like a Sriracha shortage could actually happen, at least for the next 35 days.
