Artist Jani Leinonen isn't so pleased with the way the
Hungarian government treats its homeless people. To prove his point on the
matter, Leinonen constructed a fake Burger King installation called Hunger King
to serve the homeless.
According to Eater, his main gripe is that while it's illegal for the homeless
to sleep or loiter outdoors, it's legal for people who aren't homeless to camp
out overnight for the latest consumer product of interest. Hunger King has two
lines to enter, one of the "Rich" and one for the "Poor." The first 50 people
in the "Poor" line will receive a Hunger King box, which contains 11 euros, or
Hungary's average minimum wage per day.
The Hunger King installation also features Coca-Cola cups,
which read "Capitalism," and a website that lists what the Hungarian government
"serves" to its rich and poor citizens respectively.
