You might think ketchup is the condiment of choice for most Americans, but market research reveals that mayo is the true king. According to Quartz, data from Euromonitor that looks at the monetary value of consumption showed that in 2013 approximately $2 billion worth of mayonnaise was consumed in the U.S., compared to just $800 million worth of ketchup.
After ketchup, Americans spend their condiment dollars on soy sauce, barbecue sauce, hot sauce, mustard, steak sauce, then "other," in that order.
