An abnormally large 18-pound lobster was captured recently by the team at Mullaney's Harborside Fish Market in Scituate, MA. He was lovingly dubbed, Luke. And like all Disney-esque stories of friendship with underwater species (long live The Little Mermaid!), this one has a happy ending.
As Grub Street reports, despite great interest from the public regarding cooking and eating poor Luke, the Mullaney team, in all its wisdom, released the lobster — who they estimated to be around 75 years old — back into his home via fishing boat. "Luke Oceanwalker took his last boat ride to freedom this morning," reads the fish market's Facebook post.
If that's not good karma, we don't know what is.
