The next time you're at a McDonald's, don't be surprised if instead of, "Would you like fries with that?" you get asked if you'd like a Pumpkin Spice Latte. No, you did not accidentally wander into a Starbucks. The fast-food giant is adding a limited-time Pumpkin Spice Latte to the menu. The latte flavor will be available nationwide September 24 through mid-November. McDonald's describes the drink as, "a blend of freshly brewed 100% Rainforest Alliance Certified™ espresso and creamy steamed milk infused with a combination of warm spices and flavors of pumpkin pie." While Starbucks has had a monopoly on Pumpkin Spice Lattes thus far, other chains have certainly attempted to cash in on the yearly pumpkin craze. In fact, McDonald's served up a pumpkin milkshake in the past.
Do you think McDonald's will have a new seasonal favorite with its Pumpkin Spice Latte? Will McCafé will be able to compete with Starbucks?
