Two new limited-edition OREO cookie flavors are set to hit shelves February 3. And this time, the popular cookie company has really outdone itself. The brand has tapped into the kid in all of us with its latest cookies — drum roll please — Marshmallow Crispy (think Rice Krispies Treats) and Cookie Dough. The cookies will only be available for six to eight weeks, beginning in early February. OREO will launch a special commercial for the cookies this coming Sunday. There will be a secret hashtag at the end of the commercial and fans who Tweet the hashtag the fastest will get their hands on a free taste of Cookie Dough or Marshmallow Crispy.
Delish had a chance to try the new cookies and we were pleasantly surprised by both. While nothing will ever top the original OREOs (except maybe Double Stuf), we liked both flavors. Cookie Dough has the classic chocolate cookie exterior with a cookie dough-reminiscent (although it doesn't match the flavor of an actual fresh batch of raw dough) brown filling that contains extra flecks of chocolate (presumably the chips). Marshmallow Crispy features a vanilla cookie with marshmallow-flavored frosting and tiny crispies that somehow manage to keep their texture amidst the soft filling. If we had to pick a favorite it would probably be the Marshmallow Crispy because the cookie tastes slightly closer to the real thing.
