All caught up in the chicken or the egg dilemma? The arguments are about to get a whole lot more interesting. According to the Daily Mail, Whole Foods is now selling chicken-less eggs. The latest product to hit the health food supermarket giant is called Beyond Eggs. Made completely from plants, the powdered egg substitute is meant be used in place of the real deal in lots of food scenarios. In fact, baked goods and even mayonnaise made with Beyond Eggs are said to have fooled many a taste tester. The company is backed by Peter Thiel and Bill Gates and was founded by Josh Tetrick, whose hope was to use a combination of plants to imitate everything about your average egg from flavor to cooking uses to nutritional benefits. Beyond Eggs is still perfecting a plant-based version of scrambled eggs, but that is the next step. "Eventually we'll get to one thing that will replace everything," stated founder Josh Tetrick.
