If you purchased peanut or almond butter recently, it's time to check the label. nSpired Natural Foods, Inc. is voluntarily recalling peanut and nut butters due to possible Salmonella contamination. So far four illnesses thought to be connected to consumption of the tainted products have been reported.
The peanut and almond butters in question were already distributed across the country as well as in Canada, Hong Kong, United Arab Emirates and the Dominican Republic. The jars include Maranatha and Arrowhead Mills brands as well as specific supermarket brand labels including Kroger, Safeway Trader Joe's, and Whole Foods. For specific best by date ranges and UPC numbers, see the U.S. Food and Drug Administration press release.
