Just after Jack in the Box began offering a fast food version of the cronut, Carl's Jr. decided to join in on the hybrid food craze. According to Brand Eating, the chain is testing "Bisnuts," which are a doughnut/biscuit mash-up, also known as doughscuits.
So far Bisnuts have been spotted at locations in Southern California. They come with vanilla or chocolate icing and rainbow sprinkles. This marks the second time a major fast food eatery has copied a boutique restaurant's popular hybrid, which almost makes chains reproducing popular food mash-ups a trend all on its own!
